Fedora VM8 - root login

I am using Fedora and am unable to log in as root. The install page said the root password was "fedora". When I type "login root", I get the password request, but it does not log me in when I type in fedora. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to start the virtual machine logged in as root?

i'm not quite sure what executing "login root" does
what happens if you try su -
and then putting in the password "fedora"?

Too late. I "powered down" the window and restarted fedora. I then logged in as root - no issues other than I need about 10G worth of space in the virtual file system...Of course, I lost the original set of files I had.:confused:
