VMplanet root password

I installed the "Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 5" by vmplanet.

I use the VMPlanet username and it logins in fine, however I would like to know the root password if possible?

I'm trying to change /etc/network/interfaces file. But it said you cannot change the file and i do not have the root password.

There is no root password set.

sudo su - will work
