I saw a posting on the GSX forum "If you want to boot the virtual machine from the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive in a client system, complete the following steps. 1. When you first begin booting the guest operating system, press the Esc key. A boot menu appears. etc."
But that doesn't work in Fusion...

I'm just an average user, so take anything I say accordingly. I am trying to figure out what you have and what you are trying to boot. Did you make a VM guest and then put it on CD and are you now trying to boot it? If you are using Fusion I would think that you would copy that file to your VM guest directory (in my case it is ~/documents/virtual machines and then open Fusion. Your guest, I would think would show up in the list and you could then select and run it.
I see from the date on your post that it was more than a month ago. I hope in that time you didn't get mad, threw your Mac away and bought a Windoz machine to put Linux on. : - ). Good luck and let me know if I was any help or just a pain.
