I started up the Fedora-8 in Vmware workstation after having given up on Vmware server.

It then told me that I had xxx updates and I said yes, please apply. After a while it comes back and asks me for The "please insert Fedora 8(disk 1) into your CD drive". Ok, I download the Fedora 8 DVD install, and try that, but no cigar. The DVD is mounted, but it does not seem to take.

I also noted that the default RAM size was set to 256 MB, so I also tried upping it to 1024 MB, but with the same results.

I am stuck. I am also running Fedora 8 in native mode on several other machines in my network, and know how to get around after a fashion.

To update, just uncheck the repository. Not sure why your media isn't working, but this will get you around the problem.

If you'd prefer not to follow the link, here is a screenshot of what you need to uncheck.
